I was just down there last weekend.
Unfortunately didn't do a whole lot of fishing, and most of that was in the spillway.

We did float some leeches around in the lake for a bit and got a couple crappie, couple sunnies, and one catfish that went 3-4 pounds.
The baitshop guy got a 40 pound flathead out of the lake a couple days prior.

Did not take a temp, but the warm side seemed like it was around 85 degrees. Cool side probably ten degrees cooler.

Couple bass tourney guys fishing a cove that we were bank fishing said that they were picking up a few mediocre fish on culprit worms or jig n pigs fished slowly around the stumps and flooded standing timber.
This was on the warm side.

Hope this helps.

Maybe change up to targeting flatheads for some good action.
-Saw another guy fishing with a live bluegill tie into something HUGE but did not get it in.
Fought it for a full five minutes and had made zero progress on gaining control of that fish before it got off.
Wish we could have seen that monster come to hand.

Yeah Hank55, I guess you probably are "the bait shop guy".

I was there with my brother and son -big kid with red hair.
I stopped in to tell you about the nice largie I got in the spillway, bought wood and ice a couple times, you were installing a new door handle one of the times that I was in.

Loved my stay at Clinton.
Here is my camping re-cap posted here on CLF.

I put up a question about the beach which went unanswered, and then after our weekend edited the post with my re-cap.
I will definately return to Mascoutin.

Paul in Joliet.
