Thanks for the report. I plan on heading down to Emiquon this Saturday for the first time and am pretty excited about it. Although, I'm expecting to have fun with the smaller bass all day, I'll always keep the idea in the back of my mind that I could also hook into one of the 700 brood bass they stocked in '07. I've seen a few pics of them and they are BEASTS!

localyokal,

Also wanted to thank you for the Mazonia tips you gave me a while back. I finally went down for the first time last weekend. I didn't do very well but I got to know the lay of the land a little bit for when the weather gets better.

I had planned on trying Clear Lake but the gate was locked off. I could've walked my trailer down the path around it but I didn't know if I was supposed to be there or not. Normally, that wouldn't make me too nervous, but my fishing buddy is applying to be a State Trooper and didn't want to blow his chances with the possibilty of a tresspassing ticket.

Danpat-for future reference; that gate is always closed, except when the rangers want access to that back section. It's OK to go around the gate if you can walk your trailer/boat back there. I have a cart rigged up for my 2-man plastic bass scamp and go back there often.

That's good news slimshady. Thanks. I have the same kind of boat. A 10' bassraider. Would'nt mind seeing a pic of that cart you've got rigged up.

Mike,

Was anyone teal hunting down there? There's supposed to be a bunch of bluewings in that area right now.

Mike;
Good report on the downstate bassin. Sorry, I talked a mean game, but didn't do any of the things (like dove hunting) I was going to try on my vacation! I'm stuck in my Mazonia rut and that has been slow. I will hook up with you and broaden my horizons-are Emiquon and Fulton Co. both strip mine areas? Drakebuster Dave says the sunken duck blind looks good on his depthfinder-I would love to sink one more before they close for the year.
