Default 10/9-12 Shelbyville crappies

Made my annual Columbus Day Weekend trip down to Lake Shelbyville to crappie fish... usually hit it at least 4-5 trips a year... and am really starting to learn patterns and locations of crappie in the lake based on the water temps and time of year! Time spent on the water and good electronics really pay off. This is my first year with a side imaging and it works wonders on locating structure.

We finished with 25-30 fish on sat, 18 on sun and 10 fat fish on mon, this lake is absolutely beautiful in the fall and there are great fish to be had there including bass, walleye, crappie or white - some even like the toothy guys, I can leave them!

All fish were taken on 1/8" Reeves Jig Head with a Red and Chart Midsouth Super Jig Tube and a crappie nibble, 10' Sam Heaton Super Sensitive with a Bass Pro Tiny Lite with Viscious 8# Flouro.

Some fish on shallow brush main lake points, some in stick ups about half way back into the coves 8-16 feet deep down 5-10, the biggest came from the north end of the lake on deep brush, the last days catch were all from 11-13 inches!

I have Coords too, but will have to send them in PM and then kill you - LOL

Thanks for the details on the how aekoff. No reasonable fisherman would ask for detailed information about location and smarter fishermen are careful to not give them away I think all of us do appreciate the hows though. And the pics

you bet local... I have learned a lot by reading the how and you set a great example of how to pass along information to help fisherman broaden their horizon and become better at their sport... I usually try to share the how, guess I forgot this time since it was a little after I got back!

I will even share spots especially for Crappie at Shelbyville because it is so big and just because I tell you where I caught em, doesn't mean you can catch em too or they are even still there
