New to the area? A little help

Ive been at school in New Hampshire for the past 3 years and have taken up saltwater flyfishing and trout fishing. im home for 3 monthes and was wondering whta is great for fishing around here. Im from Crystal Lake and am planning to go to MI for steelhead, but what is good in Chicagoland area?

I was on the fox the other day under the Yorkville dam and caught some walleye on some cowens silversides. i have a feeling flying for walleye is uncommon though. Does anyone know of some great places to go for carp around here?

Thanks for the help.

Brian

You can catch carp in the Fox. Try the slowest moving water you can find, which might be difficult, given how low the river is. I have caught them using olive and black wooly buggers in real slack water. If you get one, hang on!
