Default Keeping the Vue from the Pawns

Evening at Chess Club saw lots of action. Some good some not so good.

Felt soles barely got wet before I see active feeding ahead.
20 foot cast and bang.

Again and to the left.

I love these chubs when they get about 8 inches and bigger. Several caught and a few punkys and gills.
Green sunfish seemed to have day off.

Waded down to the turn around riffle picked up a few rock bass and a couple small largemouth that were camera shy.

Way back upstream was better than trip down. Casting up to a rocky flat where some punkys were hanging out and dragging one back, a dark shadow grabbed the fish and headed back upstream drag screaming. I leaned on the fish when backing was visible. A few more feet and let go. Pretty sure it was a cat.

Heard splashing behind me was hoping for deer sighting but was only family of raccoons. White spinner flies were coming out in droves as I left the water.

Back at car making my bragging texts a strange truck goes by then come around and pulls in. I decide time to leave.
This was a service flatbed of some kind. Toolboxes etc. I figure they were up to no good. They didn't stay and fish and they did not follow but did sit way too long at stop sign.

Maybe we will meet next time. Maybe the cell fone and wallet will be with me a bit out of sight.

Near as I can tell from google those are lake chubs. I have hung out with guys that had bags of smoked chubs they munched on a lot. I never developed the palate.
