Hit one of my two favorite limestone creeks today with the fly rod. Action overall was very slow, but the ones I landed were fatties. Two rock bass pushing one pound each, and two smallies, approximately 2 and 3 lbs each, what hogs! The bass were still guarding their beds, so I just had to tease and tantalize them with a bead head wooly bugger until they struck. The trick was to let it sit on the bottom and wait patiently until they struck, so maybe they're just starting to feed. They were a bit too heavy for my 5 wt fly rod, but I managed to finesse them in without breaking the rod. All fish were released to fight another day.
