Default Al Qaeda wins in Spain.

Let's see, a horrible terrorist attack occurs. Hundreds die. The terrorists attack you because you aid in an arrest of terror agents in a plot to smuggle weapons (Bin Laden vowed revenge after this incident). What do you do? Vote against your government because you're afraid you'll be attacked unless you capitulate on your anti-terror stance. Now, you have a socialist government that will be more touchy feely with the terrorists. That's just brilliant.

"Please, oh please don't hurt us nice Mr Terrorist sir. We promise not to help those mean old Americans foil your plans anymore. Just leave us be."

Does Europe ever learn? They're so freaking concerned with their own safety "Today", they never stop to consider what tomarrow will bring. That, and the fact that "Anti-Americanism" is hip now. This is exactly what happened with Hitler. Exactly! "We'll give them what they want. That's sure to make them back off." It doesn't work!

Now is the time for cold, calculating LOGIC!!! Decisions based on fear and panic are going to get our throats cut. It's a real serious situation we're in. I know 2001 was a while ago but it happened.

Something to consider; China has a HUGE population of Muslims. I'm guessing that more than one or two of them believe as the extremists do. They've (China) never been attacked. You know why. They start blowing stuff up there and it's good night! What do you think China's response would be to a September 11th like attack on Beijing? "Katie bar the door!"
I ask you, who would hold China in contempt the way we've been? No one. We are soft and CARE about what the world thinks of us. China doesn't give a [email protected] about what the world thinks. Their policy is "Mess with us and die!" That's a policy that keeps them safe. It's harsh, I know but like I've said, THEIR buildings haven't been attacked--ours have. We could adopt the same policy without becoming a communist nation. How do I know? Because we once had that policy. We're soft. Too soft.

Back to Spain. What message does this election send the terrorists? --Push hard enough and they crumble. Store water this November, it may come in handy-- God, I hope not!

Not good.

Spanish voters just ruined the top economy in Europe, over what? 1100 troops in Iraq?

El Carpo- It is funny that you use the internet as forum for your praise on China. During the recent chinese national congress authorities heavyly censored all internet access in China. What a great place to live! Maybe nobody is blowing up stuff there because they don't send troop all over the place as the "protector" of democracy.

Whoa there horsie!! I wasn't praising China in all things. Believe me, on just about every issue you can come up with, I HATE China's government and system. They are butchers and thugs who sell organs of kidnapped political prisoners illegally on the black market (Mostly to wealthy Malaysians). They vandalized Tibet like barbaric savages. The list goes on and on. Trust me, I have no love of the Chinese government. I do agree with their "Don't tread on me or else" policy. Also, we're not only the protector of democracy, we're the promotor of democracy. Because we're the GOOD GUYS-- deal with it.

Oz,

I can't Anglicize my user name. It would ruin the image. El Zoro didn't go around calling himself , "The Fox!"

Oh, and socialism suxx

I agree El Carpo, China has alot of problems but they won't sit around and let people blow them up. I respect them for that.

As far as protecting other countries and promoting democracy? If not us, then who? Our super power status allows us to help when needed. I for one agree with stopping people like Hitler, Sadaam, Bin Laden, and all the other wack jobs out there that love to beat up on innocent people and countries.

You are missing the point: I am not questioning our envolvement promoting democracy, I applaude it. With their "Don't tread on me or else" policy China is supporting undemocracy- I can't see anything positive in bullying your neighbors, which is only possible because China is bullying its own citizen.

The policy of "Don't tread on me or else" has nothing to do with "bullying." It's simply sending a message--"Don't mess." Every nation has the right to defend itself (Even if France doesn't like it). Terrorist acts are not my idea of democracy. It's the terrorists who are doing the bullying. If these fundamentalist extremists went the route of Ghandi, 9/11 wouldn't have happened, and they would have probably received more support and a peaceful resolution to all of our problems. The sad truth of the matter is this, they're a bunch of crazy losers who are offered the chance to be a great "Martyr for the cause." Bin Laden and the other leaders of these organizations use them. I still remember Bin Laden laughing about the fact that most of the hijackers didn't know that they were going to die in the 9/11 attacks until they were in the air.

If a dirty bomb gets set off in L.A. or N.Y. and millions die and we find evidence that the nuclear materials used came from country x, my position is we turn country x into glass. We don't go to the U.N., we don't ask anyone's permission to attack, we kill them. Then we give a worldwide ultimatum-- help terrorism in any way, and your cities go poof! That doesn't make us bad, it makes us prudent and safer. We HAVE to be taken seriously by these people or we're all going to get killed. That's my stance.

Better not hate China as everything you buy will be made there or of parts made there in the near future.

China is no different that any other large country when it comes to change it take's a long time. It's been thirty some years since Nixon was there and only small progress has been made since. They will come around in time.
