Default Do You Think You're Poor?...

This is sorta interesting. Even though it does not take into acount the cost of living, zoning regulations, taxes, etc, it's still something to think about.

That is interesting, but mininum wage workers would be considered rich according to this. I don't see too many millionaires working the fry machine at McDonalds :P

It saddens me to hear on the news about how poorly some people live in the world.

I decided I would look though and came up with the following.

I added the 2 numbers on the site Fonz posted.
Total = 6,000,000,000

I then looked up the worlds population for today (est.) 6,459,410,538

The 2 figures are close so they must be adding children in the figure.
While I know some children are forced to earn money to help their families, there has to be an awful lot of non-wage-earning babies in the world.

I thought I should look that up too and found that there are some 2.1 billion children in the world and they make up 35% of the worlds population.

Take the number of children out of the figures on the site and the numbers wouldn't look so skewed.
No doubt we have it very good here but places that play with figures get on my nerves.

Just my 2 pennies worth.

My current income is $0.00, so I'm on par with an Ethiopian dung-mulcher... Hey Blu, can I borrow a buck for some nightcrawlers????

Ed, of course you're absolutely correct in your take on the the site . They definately have an "agenda".

I just posted it to make people think a little bit.
I lived very comfortably on less than $100 a month when I spent 2 years in Ecuador. {Of course I always knew I had the wonderful U.S.A. to return to eventually}.
Anywho, if people would seriously consider WHERE and HOW they spend their hard earned $$$, things could improve considerably for the economically disadvantaged in the U.S.A.

Just my .02

Da Fonz

I have to add...after living 2 years in South America I actually kissed the ground when I returned to Florida on my way to Chicago. I don't want to be melodramatic but I actually did it, and it was from the heart .

Notice if you click on the "donate" button that MY address comes up! Boy, I sure hope Sally Struthers doesn't come to my house - lol! I've always thought when I see her on t.v. that IF she gave up a single lunch, she could probably feed half the kids in Ethiopia!!!
