Default Launching Tomorrow 10/30/12 for Smallies

Hello Everyone,

Waking up bright and early to fish for smallmouth for the first time on the big pond tomorrow. Launching my 17.5' aluminum Bass Tracker at Burnham and heading straight out two miles to finesse fish on a secret reef I was tipped off to this afternoon. I know its going to be a bit windy, but a slow presentation is going to be essential to coax these fish into biting. Can anyone suggest a good sensative line for this application? Any other tips or general suggestions for fishing tomorrow would be greatly appreciated. Can't wait to write up my report when I get back!

Forget finesse fishing. Rattletraps will be the key. 17.5ft boat is overkill. You need a pond prowler to sneak up on them

Best advice, stay home. The lake is going to be a mess from the hurricane. Be safe if you go. Mops

30 foot waves??? 17 foot boat??? That's less than half the length, which is the gauge I go by... Since all the big ore carriers won't be out there, you should have the lake all to yourself...

Just a personal opinion, if you aren't sure what kind of line to you to finess fish some smallies, your shouldn't kit Lake Michigan right now

Though I never met Danpat, I am quite confident he was definitely Bassalarro material.

R.I.P big fella. You were loved.
