Well this really doesnt belong in the bass forum, but i was more or less bass fishing without much success, and i wasnt offshore, shore, or perch fishing..
Got out Friday afternoon. Launched out of 95th. There is enough water to launch, and the low water actually makes seeing the cut off piles easy. Water was dirty and a couple of boats coming in said they didnt catch anything around. Lake was calm so I ran to Indiana. One guy over there said he caught a few smallies all day long. All I could manage was 4 pretty nice browns on white kahlins. Tried throwing darters and drop shots around concrete and steel, couldnt get any bass to bite.
However, when these guys are on bass gear, its easy to forget about smallies for another week...
Launched out of Pastric on Saturday, amazed by the amount of boats out. Must have been 75 or 100 boats out there trolling. Ran back around the corner, couldnt get a bite in 4 hours. Tried fishing the main lake, nothing. Saw a couple of guys catching some smallies right in the harbor mouth by the No Fishing sign. Must not be too enforced.
Launched out of Burnham on Sunday morning. Ran up around Monroe harbor. Lost something very large that I could not get to the boat. It did feel like a bass, but no promised. Makes it interesting and aggravating at the same time. Couldnt get another bite. Had a couple bass follow my carolina rig all the way to the boat but not bite. Water temp was only 38.5 degrees. I think a little higher temps will lead to a productive spring. Also had a few coho follow my darters up to the boat without any bites.
All in all a pretty nice weekend on the lake.
