Default slough 10/13

Got out after work and fished 530-730pm. Focused on sparse weeds in the 45 bay along the channel. Threw a super spook and a faster retrieve seemed to work best. Lots of surface activity out in open water, weeds have dropped quite a bit. Bite was good, ended up with nineteen 14"-19".

Not a bad day. I haven't been to the slough since June. I went on a black oak bayou kick for my top water bassin once I heard it was going to be drained. Ever have a pike swipe at those spooks?

This year I've only caught 7 pike out there, 18"-26". All of them came on a spook or a ghost. I throw frogs mainly and have not caught any on them. The heat a few years back knocked alot of the bigger ones out of the game. Had a couple go airborn and one that followed that were easily over 10.
