Default Looking for Pike Fishing within 2 hours of Chicago

I love to fish for Pike & muskie but I'm just about out of vacation days to goto wisconsin to fish, I'm looking for great places to get out to with my boat that are within 2 hours driving from West Chicago. If anyone could help me out here I'd appreciate it.

Hawk,
While it might be a shade over 2 hours from where you are, I'd try the Madison chain of lakes. I know a lot of guys fish for them up there. Good Luck fishing. Paul

Default cicerooooooo

hey i see that you're from cicero so seeing that you're super close to the desplaines why not just fish there for northern the best i've seen out of there is 36'' i've heard of larger but thats the biggest one i've witnessed being caught which isn't bad for how close it is to you

I'm not too big on the Des Plaines......It smells and you can't really trust the fish that come outta there not to have 3 eyes. I kinda wanna get away from the city and the Des Plaines doesn't really do that.

Try Eagle Lake, it's a few miles north of Wisconsin Route 50, just west of 75 on St. Mary's Road in the county park. The weeds in the northwest corner held northern and largemouth. Disclaimer - it's been a few years since I fished there.

Default ok.......

i don't know where on the desplaines you're fishing but it doesn't smell and i have never caught a fish with 3 eyes yeah you might not want to eat the fish but they fight just as well as a fish caught out of anywhere else so if you plan on keeping fish then yeah please go somewhere else we don't need people keeping fish out of the desplaines

Yeah I usually keep 1 decent size fish for dinner that night or the night after. But actually I never heard of anyone pulling Northerns out of the Des Plaines, Exactly where should I be going to catch them?
