Default I90 bridge boating

I was wondering if any one can tell me how far up river you can go from the launch before it runs to shallow?anything I should look for?

I've made it to Dundee but i wouldn't recommend it. Very rocky and sssllllooowww going but possible. I have a Bass Tracker TX17 w/40hp. I draft in like 6" but had to trim up very high because of rocks. Depending on your boat you can go further up river but you will have to putt along, dodging obstructions. Good Luck---seerad

Just north of the islands is shallow, passage is possible but be careful.

Actually now that i looked at Ed's link I made it all the way up to Carpentersville, past Dundee. I didn't make it to the dam but there are some good fishing areas in this stretch. I was targeting Smallmouth and i'm guessing that you are targeting Mudcats it gets shallow past those islands and eventually turns into a rock bottom. Go slow and you can make it. ---seerad
