Default South Rocks Sat 3/19

Hi, I've been reading CLF for sometimes now but have not posted anything. There are a lot of great information on this site. This is my first time out this year and also my first post.

Picked up some frozen shiners at the Salmon Stop and headed out to the South Rocks at 11:15. There were at least a dozen people out there using shiners, roaches and spawn. There were about under a dozen trouts caught during the time that I was there although I didn't get a single hit (don't you hate that?). Most of the hits came around 12 and another run around 1. Most of the fishes were browns between 3-5 pounds, I think there was one rainbow caught. Wind was on the average around 5 mph coming out of SW at first and then started to shift to N.

I think the season is getting better just that my luck stayed the same .

Hey Shad,
Yes, the season will do nothing but get better, and so will your luck! Lets hope this first day of spring will bring nicer weather, I've had about enough of this crap!
See ya next time!
Lori

Fishhog, or anyone else.

When do you think the best weekend would be to take me and my lil bro out there and land a few trout or salmon? Get some good action? its alittle longer of a drive for me and i dont want to waste too much gas? Thanks!

I hope the weather gets better soon too Lori. I'm sick of putting on layers just to keep my behind from freezing.

I think the best weekend to get out there is when you have nice weather I was out there the following day and the temp dropped by 10 degrees with the winds out of the North. No one caught anything from 11-1 while I was out there. I was mostly in the car to keep warm but still it was nice to just be out there than being a couch potatoe.

J-pier was hot from 630 to 0800. I saw 6 caught with another 3 on. I only had one hit.

The guy next to me had one pole launch into the water, he got it back wit the fish still on and missed the fish. He then proceeded to caught one every 15 minutes in a row.

Last year that was me, so there is some luck to it, but I was in the right place to see it.

He went only 30 feet from shore, so I adjusted also, but did not get another hit.

I'll be out there with the girlfriend on Monday morning (yes, 2 more poles!) If any CLFers are out there, stop buy and say hi.
