Default Fishing on Sunday

My two boys and I are planning to spend the entire day fishing. Does anyone have a hot spot to go to. Most likely we would do shore fishing and would like to catch bass or pike. Location is undecided, I just want a spot that we can have some success!.

Familycircus,

Wow, one spot? For me that's a tough call. From the post above from the McHenry dam, I would go there and hook up with mudminnow.

Multiple species and they have a bait shop right there.

Typically, south of Algonquin, I personally haven't seen a lot of people have success all day. I'll see the ever-present bucket people looking for catfish. But it's not like they are catching tons of fish.

my somewhat limited experiences on the fox
have taught me that mobility is key.
just because the fish arent active in one spot
doesn't mean that they're not concentrated in another
(oftentimes a few feet away).
just remember tho work each area thoroughly
throwing several kinds of lures at 'em.
good luck!!

The fish could still be in the same area as well, just change up your presentation and throw your lures from different angles as well as changing the color of the bait. This will also produce fish when you think there isn't any where you are fishing. I can't tell you how many times that I walked through an area that someone just fished without any success and I ended up hooking into alot of fish in those same areas.
