Default Cook County Shutdown Gun Dealers including Cabelas

http://nalert.blogspot.com/2008/01/cook ... -down.html

I signed the petition at Cabelas against it. I'm surprised this hasn't gotten more attention.

Cabelas obviously has a vested interest in this case... I, for one, am not going to sign this petition to protect a mega-conglomerate from it's untimely fate... They should have done their homework before moving into one of the staunchest anti-gun areas in America... Now they are appealing to anglers and other non-shooting sportsmen to help bail them out... Personally, I liked Cabelas and BassPro before they went national chain crazy...
A Crook County gun sales ban only effects a modicum portion of CLF users anyway... No resident is more than 30 minutes, and in most cases even less, from a collar county that has reduced legislation...
Just for the record, I am an NRA life member... I am just not going to feel sorry for, or come to the aid of, a huge Meg-Mart that should have **** well known better...

1st Cook county then a push for the rest of the state...I'm tired of the politicians in Cook County trying to run the whole state

The agenda of the "anti's" is much more far reaching than Crook County.
First individual counties, the regions of a state, then entire states...
...eventually from your cold dead fingers.

I didn't sign the petition to save cabelas. I did it because I feel the effects of this legislation will impact other counties in the state where people who use guns safe and legally will be affected. I live in Kane so it wouldn't bother me for now. But I think if this legislation is passed more counties will start copying or pass their own to make it harder to own or transport firearms or buy ammunition. I think we currently have enough checks and balances right now to own guns in this state. Just my opinion.

If it were just the big box stores that were effected you may have a point.

AGREE! They R just nibbling away, slow but shure. Just a little here & there. Here is a good QUOTE!
