I finally got the chance to get a wallhanger during 2nd season; 10 pointer with a very nice symetrical rack. I am looking for some advice on where anyone else has had work done by any local taxidermists and who they would recommend. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks much,

Louie L.

Stay away from Southerlands! Messed up a hybrid striper I caught several years back. She put the stripes on it with a black permanent marker! I would have told her to keep it but, I wasn't the one to pick it up. Smith's in Joliet has done work for me with fish & few ducks, real nice work!
Be careful who you choose, look at their work, not contest work, they will never spend as much time on a mount for you & I as they would for something they plan on entering shows with.
Depending on where you want to go, a godd taxidermist by the name of Muckel (sp?) is in Galena, has done several mounts for friends, great work but not very fast. Kind of expensive as well. I played it safe & got a 12 pt. "european mounted" skull mounted without any flesh! It looks pretty neat when I put the red ribbon on it for Christmas.
