Tough Day In The Land OF Cheese
Started the day off on Lake Marie in Kenosha County. Ice was five or six inches. Most fisherman working the shallow weed flats and catching nothing more than the occasional perch. We skipped around the flats and on out to twenty two foot of water. No flags, no crappie, no walleye. Just a few perch and chips.
Moved to Powers Lake around noon. Set flags off the center rock bar and worked the weeds with vertical jigs, horizontal jigs, spoons, blades and none of it worked well. Had four flags with one legal pike iced. Caught only a handfull of decent gills, some perch and a couple small "green fish."
Great looking day; not too windy, overcast and pretty comfortable. Fish just didn't cooperate.
