Default Trip to Angler's Kingdom

My son and I will be at Angler's Kingdom Saturday June 26 thru July 3rd.
I thought I would mention it, just in case some CLF'er is planning on a trip there. We are going to fly out of O'hare to Winnepeg. Only a 2 1/2 hour flight. From there we rent a car and drive another 6 hours to Red Lake.

I've got Friends in Winnipeg, in case you get delayed...

Good luck Chuck. I'll be going there in 2011 so don't catch them all.

JKS: We are going to stay at a hotel at the airport. That way if our luggage gets lost we will be right there to recover it. Hopefully since it is a direct flight nothing will be lost. We are going to stay overnight and the next morning we will have a fresh start. With stop overs for meals it will be about a 8 hour trip to Red Lake.

fishinnut: I am going to use barbless hooks, so some of the fish will get away Also I won't eat to many walleyes for shore lunches.

And some really scenic stuff too, Chuck... "The Trans-Canada Highway".... Mmmmm, Tim Hortons.... The Lake Winnipeg/Red River crossing is awesome, and you'll go right by Lake in the Woods... Be glad you're not driving west from there... My friends always say that you can watch your dog run away for 2 days because it's so flat... Keep an eye on the weather the day you fly... Last time I went to YWG, on United, our 9am departure was delayed 8 hours by a 15 minute thunderstorm at 6am... Ridiculous, but O'hare operates that way... GLGF, as the saying goes.......

JKS: I guess that is another good thing we did by booking a hotel at the airport for Friday evening. That way we won't have to panic if there is a flight delay. My son is a frequent flyer so he had enough points to get the hotel free. About 5 years ago my son and I went to Andy Meyers at Vermillion Bay, so we are familar with that area. As you mentioned very scenic and so many lakes. You wish you could be there for a month.

Looks like I'll be going in 2011 with the family as well... everything will depend on finances of course.

Good luck Chuck, and the CLF community will be expecting a report w/pics

Default Thanks

Thanks for all the good wishes guys. I will definitely get out a good report. If I would be able to access their computer, I could give you a quick report.
However their computer might be off limits.
