Fishing the Rock Falls / Sterling area Oct. 24th
I'm in from Tennessee visiting family in Milledgeville, IL and a buddy of mine from the 'burbs is bringing his boat out to fish tomorrow (Sunday, Oct. 24th). We were thinking of trying the Sinnissippi Park area on the Rock (Sterling). We typically fish for bass, crappie, walleye, or sauger. This time out we're just looking for action and not table fare. We are not restricted to the Rock, so if anyone has any information on what would be a good fishing trip in the area right now, I'd sure like to hear about it. We thought about Lake Carlton, but are worried about the HP restriction; my buddy has a 90 hp, and we're worried they won't allow that on the lake at all.
Any suggestions for a location, pattern, and or species would be greatly appreciated. I have been posting to the "Out-of-State" board since moving to Tennessee seven years ago, but have have frequented the this site for years and know that you guys can be very helpful; I know I try to be when I post. Please, has anybody got anything useful for me? I have posted this in the Rock and Mississippi forums hoping to hit a larger audience.
Catch and Release (except for the occasional crappie or walleye fish fry)
