Mick--

Do you know of any websites, that could help me with fishing a bolo rod for float fishing? Better yet do you have pointers. Some of these get up to 25 feet, so practical questions come into mind such as:

How do you cast something like this? I can't imagine doing an overhead cast without hooking a passerby.

If you should hook into a large fish, say 12 or 15 pound carp, how does one bring it in. Do you need 25 foot long match net for such a long pole.

The reason being is that I'm not ready to make that 5 or 600 dollar jump to straight up and down pole fishing and I think that the bolo might be a good transition for me.

Also, do you know of any american suppliers of bolo rods?

So, three questions. Fire at will.

Thanks

Glass is OK

A Bolo rod is a telescopic rod

Good Graphite are not cheap but like many things they are coming down

I have a few demo,s samples but not big ones

I have only needed them up to 20 here in USA so far

You can find Glass rods that are very strong to start with that are up to 20 ft

Its hard to break these.

Im on the run still recovering from Bad hit of broncitus .

I love Bolo Rods Great memories having won a Bronze medal using one in Ireland in 1992

Its was vital there.
Had to use a 27ft Rod and fish 30ft deep, it was very very tough
Thanks for the great memory.
Hope to help you in near future.
