Sweet. I love the ci4 I use it more than any other reel. Its the lightest reel out there.

I only have 1 loomis so i can't comment of the GLX or NRX but I have a bunch of elites and extremes and really like the elites since they dont have the recoils and the prefer the color of the elites. if you love fishing as much as i do you might as well use the best gear, it makes the experience that much better and you can always trust in your equipment

Nice gear! I also picked up a stradic ci4 for this season and already own a Core 100Mg. I love these reels! Gonna pick up some rods and another baitcaster for throwing crankbaits. Shimano reels are awesome! Enjoy, and hope the fish put some good wear on those reels for you!

I understand fishing with quality gear, but there are plenty of great products out there for far less money, Shimanos Sadona for aroung 50 bucks, I have four of them and the oldest being at least five years old, still good as new, on occasion I have to clean it but still a great reel. The Saraha for about 80, another great one for the money. If you are beating the heck out of them to only make them last a year, it has nothing to do with the quality of the reel, it is user malfunction. There are also a whole lot of 100 dollar range rods that will do the same. I am not saying it is bad to buy some real high quality gear, but where do you draw the line? For 500 bucks, i could buy a new trolling motor, or pay for a long weekend fishing anywhere around here. Just my 2 cents. I will say, it is a very nice reel, enjoy!

For $500 you can buy 10 UglyStick combos and still have money for pizza beer and a couple lap dances.

I myself have several stradics from the 10000 to the 40000 and several Calcuttas from the 200 to the 400 series and they don't even come close to the Pfleugers reels and less expensive. Just bought another Pflueger President for $59 and with 9 bearings it will last a lifetime. Buy what you like and buy what you can afford. Most of all you have to use the gear to get your monies worth instead of letting them sit in a corner collecting dust and taking pictures then saying, these reels lasted me 10 yrs...

Missed you F&F! You got rid of all of those viruses in computer? Bet your going blind... .

but $500 is worth it for a stella. Its so smooth and smoother then any other spinning reel. You don't have to try as much to reel a fish in the gears will do it for you. Yeah theres the shimano sustain and a stradic thats way cheaper and will last a lifetime, but those reels are no stella. You have to hold one yourself in bass pro to find out. Pflueger reels don't even come close to shimano and daiwa reels. A daiwa cetate will outpower any spinning reel even a shimano stella. Its just less smooth. Watch this shimano sustain 3000 in action most reels wont hold up to this
