Default Belmont report

Fish from 2 to 5pm ,saw about doz 9" er . but seem like most fish were caught earlier. Lot of small fish but bite very lite. found a few larger fish near middle of dock. need to fish very slow to get them to bite. They all seem to be sucking on the bait without moving it much. Took home less then limit of 8' to 10"

The same thing has been happening at Navy Pier. Especially with my slip bobber setups. I have found that replacing the hook with a smaller one, or using an ice jig, works especially when instead of a full minnow, using a minnow head or perch cut bait. That way, when they move on to the bait, they don't have 2-3 inches of minnow to get past until they get to the hook. I have had luck both ways. Minnows have seemed to outfish waxies, and just using the head seems to work fine.

Default 1/12 Belmont

A very slow day. fish from 3:30 til 5 . caught around 20 but only 2 that would be consider keeper. Even the dink are not easy to come by, I think they move to the deep .At least it was a nice day.

Meet up with Lunker Hunter at Belmont. It was a slow day with lot of baby at D but seen a good number of 9 to 10 " at H. seem like they were biting in the morning but slow down during the day .End the day with less then limit of small keeper with 4 over 9".It was nice to meet a fellowCLF memeber. I think we have a great group of people here.
