Default Waukegan Harbor Perch Bonanza 4/06

Fishing was great again for about 3hrs in the 30+mph winds and rain but we managed to be just shy of a 2 man limit. Crazy but worth it! Largest fish of the day went about 14.5".

Charlie you are the man. It takes skill and dedication to extract those brutes from the slips in Waukegan Harbor like that.

Great looking perch. Not to be a downer but they do look to be full of eggs.

I think there are a ton of perch in Illinois waters but it makes no sense whatsoever how the dnr runs the seasons.

Nice bunch of fish guys!!!

Fin,
Catching them deep and over 30fow. It's very clear they were caught in deeper water as in the first picture you can see the bladders sticking out of the mouth on one of them and their eyes are bulging out of their heads. Not sure about Indiana as I was told the monsters of the deep are in Waukegan. Back up there most likely in the morning.....

Not to mention the bugged eyes on the forth one, nice haul poorboy. Too bad this sailor is landlocked, good for the fish though I guess.

Default Waukegan Perches

I stand corrected then those are some dandy Perch for sure. Great report and keep them coming. Folks please disregard my previous erroneous assessment as i was wondering why no shore guys were getting them but if you were deeper than 30 foot that explains it. Nice set of Perches no matter where ya got em Poorboy. I have caught a few and 95% of them had there air bladders coming out of there mouths and buggy eyes not just one or 2 but i bring mine up pretty quick. Man already Perch in 30 fow i better hurry before they hit shore. I am just jealous, Perch rigs or blades? I think i may take a ride down and see whats up.

Hey no problem Fin. I should have stopped by the Salmon Stop and gave Lori a report but I don't even know where they are located. I'll stop by there on my way home tommorrow and make sure I give her a full detailed report. A jigging spoon with a piece of cutbait worked best for me...Maybe I'll call there and let them know whats goin on.
