Just like Ed, you are entitled to your opinion no matter how unfounded it might be. What's the date? Hmmm...Usually perch start to come into shore mid to late May. By this time of year they are usually out deeper due to the warm water close to shore. However, this year, once again, is an unusually cool Summer and there is still cold enough water close to shore that should hold fish. Sadly, there are very few fish to be found.
Eventually the water will warm up and you will close the book on the most unproductive perch fishing year in the history of Illinois. Unfortunately, this is quite possibly what the future holds for us shore guys. It is evident that there is a substantial reduction in the number of fish available and the way they relate to the shore.
I hope I'm wrong, but I wouldn't bet against it.
