Default Perch reports

Went to 31st harbor around 3 days ago and caught nothing besides a small smallies and 20 or so gobies. Is it still average to below average out there? Heard montrose is taking some fish but smaller and only 4 or 5 or so.

I have fished several of the harbors in the last week including this morning- Montrose , Burnham, 31st and 63rd. Its been the same just 2-3 small ones. I do know they are getting nice perch out in 30-60 fow in Indiana waters and the perch have really turned on in the last week. I'm also in the opinion that the season is several weeks behind schedule. Keep trying and you'll find em good luck

Thumbs up

Yesterday, I got a pretty 12" jumbo.

Then ended up with 3 more, all around 9".

Just like Ed, you are entitled to your opinion no matter how unfounded it might be. What's the date? Hmmm...Usually perch start to come into shore mid to late May. By this time of year they are usually out deeper due to the warm water close to shore. However, this year, once again, is an unusually cool Summer and there is still cold enough water close to shore that should hold fish. Sadly, there are very few fish to be found.

Eventually the water will warm up and you will close the book on the most unproductive perch fishing year in the history of Illinois. Unfortunately, this is quite possibly what the future holds for us shore guys. It is evident that there is a substantial reduction in the number of fish available and the way they relate to the shore.

I hope I'm wrong, but I wouldn't bet against it.
