Default Perch question. PLEASE READ

Alright, I had this question for a while now. You know how the weather channel says winds "from" a certain direction? So if it says winds from the south west does that mean the winds are blowing north east. Because perching is optimal with a southwest wind but what does the "from" mean? Should i look for days that say winds from the north east or from south west? For example if a friend is traveling to you in illinois from texas he would be coming "from" the south but traveling north. Any ideas?

To be overly simple, from means from.. As you stand on the Chicago lakefront, a predicted SW wind will be blowing from Joliet towards Chicago, or over your right shoulder.. A south wind will blow from Gary to Milwaukee, or directly into your right ear... East will be in your face and North in your left ear..

Lol - see Johnny's above post for the correct answer. You're 180 degrees off.

Johnny, what happens if the poster sneezes while scratching his left butt-cheek? Which ear will the wind hit then??? lol!

I sometimes weep when I think about what the public schools in our country churn out...

No one's being a jag mattnkay. Just poking a little fun is all.
You did use ALL CAPS in a portion of your OP, so I thought an important issue was about to be raised...

The intent of a post/reply does not always translate well. Hope we're cool now.

GLGF !
