Default 911!!!! trolling motor down

okay folks, i broke my trolling motor, moron me was running down the dpr and the hit wake from a barge i didnt have the trolling motor clinched in the grip slide all the way and wack, i wanna say i cracked the housing......its only a couple weeks old and is a minnkota power drive 55lb, so any suggestions??? how probable is a return?? were could i pick up parts?? who fixes them?? or should i just drop a grand and get the 101lb thrust ???

There should be a warranty on it, if not maybe Fishing MAtt could answer a few of those questions, he had the same problem. good luck. Mops

Check with Rob at Wil Rey Marine He may be able to fix it or get you parts. He repairs trolling motors. Theres also a place that advertizes in Midwest Outdoors I think its Dragon master. if you cant find robs number call strickly fishing and ask for Robs number hes got a guide service called lets go fishing. Hope this helps.

Just got mine back from WilRae 93 and S. Harlem. Ave.I know he is there Mon. thru Friday 8 to 5.Ask for Rob had very good and quick service.

How does the boat perform with the 55? Do you need more thrust? Will you have to add more batteries? This may be a time to upgrade as you said.
