Default Planning a silver carp trip to Illinois

I watched a show the other day on bowhunting silver carp in the Illinois river. What a hoot! I'm ready to start planning a trip and was hoping I could get some help from everyone here.

1. What are some good spots to hunt for silver carp?

2. What kind of licenses would an out of stater need, cost? (I'll probably call the DNR first, but just wanted a ballbark idea.)

3. Do I need to register an out of state boat if we bring our own?

Just a few to start.

Thanks,

Troll

Summer is the best time, the hotter the better. Right now with the cool nights they are starting to slow down. The shallows are where you want to look, especially the side where the wind is blowing.
Out of state fishing licence is all you need, dont think any special boat permits are needed, but ask the DNR to make sure.
Where you coming from?

Buchanan, MI, just south of Berrien Springs and north of South Bend.

You might see some action yet this year, but its not going to be like in July or August. Let me know when you are going to make the trip, I will help you as much as I can, maybe meet you out there for some shooting.

Thanks Ejoe! I probably won't go until next year now that we're in Bow season for deer over here. I'll pop in sometime after I've made some calls to the DNR.
