Default River Condition

Went over the DesPlaines today and it looks about as high as Ive ever seen it! I think the Illinois is going to be pretty fast and high for a few weeks so think twice about fishing it! . But this high water can be great in weed choked backwaters though

I was out at three rivers today too. Carpooled to school with my girlfriend and got out 4hours early for my class so I took a drive down there. Found out its only 10-15minutes from college. The kankakee is up atleast 4ft. The desplaines finally got high after last nights rain. The main river looked fine but muddy water was flowing out of the backwaters. Still saw some gar rolling, there actually seemed like there were some bigger ones out.

I was there Thurs. water was just muddy enough to let the carp seem "white". More carp than buffalo giving me something to aim at- hoping to see you guys on Sept. 1; if I get the chance to go I will be bringing a buddy.

Looks like the 3K might be the best bet for next week. The NOAA river predictions say it going to be near normal.
