Default Fishing Kayak help

Ya'll,

I recently got rekindled my want and yearning for kayak fishing when I got back into fly fishing. Well, I was never really "out of it" but Iraq deployments and moves... they didn't have many sand fish. Anyways, I got a boat and that's all fine and dandy, but I'm really looking for some advice for a sit-on-top yak.

First off, I'm not a small guy. So I would really want something that would float well, and be durable. Nothing too fancy, just looking to put in some local stream and rivers here. (Du Page, Illinois, Kankakee, etc.) Any and all advice that you all have would be very much appreciated. Unfortunately money is always an issue, but I can probably swing a few extra bucks, pending the boss (wife) "okays" it.

Thanks a lot!

Tight lines.

The Jackson Coosa is considered the Cadillac of SoT Kayaks, the price tag is pretty heavy too $1150. This is the one I now plan on buying in March of next year.

The Wilderness Ride 135 Angler is the boat used by Chad Hoover on his Kayak bassin' TV show and you tube channel. also kinda pricy - $1140

Then you have the Hobie Kayaks with their Mirage drive system, also VERY pricy.

Bass Pro Shops has a decent 12 foot SoT for $500. you might want to check that one out.

Ocean Kayaks Prowler Big Game and Prowler 13 Angler are nice wide stable platforms with huge capacity.

I know of an ebay retailer that can get you these models in the $800 range with no tax + free shipping. PM me if you are interested in his contact info.
