Default J-Plugs for Cohos?????? Tell Me, Tell Me, Tell Me

So there was this one time i was at Michigan City and normally i dont give a rats behind what people use but i could not help notice these baits he had on many of his rods. He looked like a serious player so low and behold they were teeny discontinued J-plugs. They measure aprox 3.5 and are noticebly thinner in diameter then the size3 that are the smallest availabe size on the shelves today. So i ebay'd my way over the years and have a nice little pile. Here is a pic of a few.......

So has anyone ever used these little babies for spring Coho's. Very hard for me to alter what i use as my results are solid as Itchthguy directing many People and Folks this winter on Crappies I am gonna trow out 1 and see what happens. Should get smoked off a board.

Any thoughts, Little King?????????? Tubes?????? Capt Joel?????????????? etc

Have no experience with J plugs and Coho but back in the mid 80's and into the 90's jointed, full sized J-plugs worked great for trolling summertime Skamania and fall Chinook. As voracious as Spring Coho are though I see them working great.

I sold my boat in the mid 90's therefore I don't troll anymore.

Spring hos will eat strips of shoe leather if given the chance.

Always nice to vary your spread, but if the fish are there and you're not catching them with dodger/flies or thin-fins, then you're trolling the wrong speed... not using the wrong lures.

Give them to me. I will throw them into the spread and try them out and tell you the results...honestly

I will try the shoe leather also, any other info on that?

I purchased a few larger plugs for the end of king season last year. I liked the action of the plug, but was only experimenting.

I would assume that they will work.

I had a Charter Capt. at the Tinley Pk. Show that said ,,,,, Don't be afraid to run larger lures while fishin for Ho's . The Ho's are all about the bait fish . Where there is bait ,, there are KINGS . Kinda made sence . Never thought about it like that . I got some small J-Plugs . Might just have to give that a whirl , myself .

Let us know the results of your research .
