Been out in the kayak a couple of times this spring but coho fishing has been slow... so today my buddy Tom and I decided to mix things up a little bit and go after some browns. Winds were on the lighter side so paddled offshore a little bit.
Water temp was 45-46. We fished mostly 15-30 fow, with fish being taken on the shallow and deeper end. There were browns of all shapes and sizes. Cookie cutters to a few that pushed 10lbs or so. Hot bait for me today was a chartruese flicker shad.
We found a pod of fish and had a couple of double headers which was pretty fun on the yaks. Not a bad day on the water, fish were biting in the middle of the day. I ended up 6 for 9. Tom also caught his respectable share. Kept one to smoke. Lot of people at work have been asking me for some fish.
This one coughed up a couple of gobies in the yak.
