Default So you want to post a picture

How to post a picture??? Well first off its free to attach pictures to your posts here on CLF. CLF does offer free image hosting to its subscribers.

In order to post a picture in your post the image has to be on the web somewhere, this is referred to as hosted. There are quite a few free web/image hosts on the web these days, and they all work defiantly so I am not going to cover them. I will cover the imaging hosting here on CLF, so if you have your own image hosting, skip the next section.

So you want to post a pic here on CLF, first you will need to size the picture. To put a pic in a post the best size is 400 x 300 pixels, that way the page will not have to scroll over to see then entire image. If you just was to share the image on the web, you can have them up to 800 x 600 pixels. So now you have your picture trimmed down to size...go to the Photo Album Now you need to decided where to put the picture. Yu can post it to any of the fish categories, or your own personal gallery, which you will find towards the bottom of the page. So now you clicked on one of the galleries, you should see a button on the left hand side right about the pictures that says "upload pic" go ahead and click on it. Then the upload screen will come up, this is where you have to fill in some info, the picture title is a required field, the description is not required. Once you have the title filled out click on the browse button on the upload pic from your machine line. This will look at you local computer, and you need to browse to the location on your computer to where you stored the picture you want to post. Once you select the pic you want to post, click on the open button. Then you will go back to the upload pic screen, and see the path tot the picture on you local computer, scroll down and there will be a "Submit" button go ahead and click on it. Then the next screen will ask where you want to go, click on the return to gallery link. Then on the next page you should see the picture you just uploaded...go ahead and click on the picture, it should open up in a new window. If you will be posting the picture to a post highlight the web address of the picture - it will look something like https://chicagolandfishing.com/forums/al ... pic_id=893 then go to the next section

Ok so now you have you picture hosted on the web, now its time to add it to a post. So go ahead and type you a good post about the picture....then in the post add
Code:
if you used the clf photo album the link will look something like
Code:

One of the easiest sites to "host" your pictures is photobucket. They are free and you do not have to resize your photos like you do with the CLF image hosting. Sign up, upload your photo and it will then give you 4 separate links to your photo. The easiest to use is the one labeled Image. Just copy and past that link from photo bucket into you post and your picture will appear without adding any labels from the CLF posting menu (the [img]and[/img] are already inserted!)

You need to have 10 posts first - you have 5 now. Go post five more posts and you'll be good to go.
