I think folks really need to be well aware of the site specific regulations to ensure that they are compliant with the rules and seek clarity where necessary, instead of drawing erroneous conclusions.

Anyway I was just trying to be helpful and provide some positive encouragement so those making their hunts in the public venue. Don't be discouraged, public land success while difficult is certainly possible.

Hunt from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Most hunters leave the woods for lunch and deer know that. I've seen more deer movement during those hours than at daybreak. Public deer hunting turned me into a waterfowl hunter.

BINGO! The whole trick to hunting public land is using other hunters to your advantage. Quite frankly, I love the challenge of hunting public land vs. private. Wish I had a ton of private land to hunt of course - lol! But, to me, outsmarting and using other hunters to maximize your success rate is much more rewarding than any other form of deer hunting. Maybe it's the competitiveness in me? I don't know. All I know is it sure does seem to be much more rewarding when I harvest a good buck on public land...

BINGO! The whole trick to hunting high-pressured public land is using other hunters to your advantage. Quite frankly, I love the challenge of hunting public land vs. private.
