I don't have the right boat for that, but both my pointers love the water. Even when it's pretty darned cold!

Picked up the blind, and both dogs have no problem getting in and laying down. Mokka did have to crawl to get in, and if this were much smaller, he would have some trouble. He is on the large size for the breed, but it is going to work fine.

Worked on the new command "blind" for two days, and they are getting it already!
Cool Jim! Boat's not much different if they're already doing water retrieves. Hardest part about a boat is getting them back in if you don't have a doggie ladder.

So, they learned in two days huh? Maybe you can come out and teach Ruby to quit eating rabbit turds for me - lol! She loves 'em. They're like "crack" to her - lol!

Yeah, I normally am not a fan of training with treats, but throwing a treat in the blind and giving the command "Blind" worked well.

Now you have to realize, I didn't feed the dogs for four days prior to the training days! You know me better than that Marty.

Once they were in there for the treat, the "down" and "stay" commands was all it took. Then they got an extra treat and lots of loving! I think that was the easiest command I've taught them.

Being crate dogs and traveling with them as much as we do must have something to do with them taking to this so well.

Let me know when you and the boy can make it out and see what a 1 yr old pup can do. When you going to get the other two younger boys going? Also, keep in mind you have a great place to waterfowl now too Marty. Welcome to join us next year if you would like. Can always make room for another shooter or two.
