Default High water, big mouths

Water temp 61, about 1' visibility,

still high and

dropping

very

slowly.

After extensive scouting, stefanmusky and I set out on the river. Drifting the shallows,we found some great holes and structure that's invisible from shore. We worked the bays and edges, finding some cool stuff along the way. We found a wide shallow bay with baitfish jumping left and right. No smallies or TCs today, so we had to keep busy with...

largemouth!

just a few, all were between 6 and 8 inches and weighed less than a pound. They acted like they were something, with big splashy surface battles more suited to fish of 16-19". All were released.

Say what?! The ladys in those pics are no where near 8 inches. Nice job. What you catch 'em on?

I have found a way to deal with questions regarding size and weight. You notice, it worked... until now!

I can't wait to nail a 10" king on my UL

All fish were taken on lipless or shallow divers. I used 3 colors and took 1 fish on each. It's brave to throw soup-strainer trebles in the Fox, but that's what it takes to get a good pic of a tiny fish sometimes.
