Default Muskrat Pond/West Branch Bass Lake

Thinking of giving muskrat or Bass lake a try this weekend, has anyone been out there on the hard water? I havent been there since the summer and looking for some reports. Only ice fished it once a few years back and got really small gills, however I have caught some real nice crappie/bass there in the spring, muskrat that is. Bass lake is a b***H to get too and with the snow, Im not sure im up for the hike, however I would like to get some of those monster crappie in there or maybe a pike or 2. Anyone know a better way to get in there? Any info is appreciated. Thanks guys good fishing this weekend, feel free to PM me.

Part of the DuPage Forest Preserve in Bartlett. Bass lake is on the south side of Army trail just before 59 and muskrat is on the other side of army trail behind Bartlett high school. You can find both on google maps or on the forest preserves website. Ill be out with a few buddies if you want to try them out, ive fished them both and done well, both are tuff to get to, especially in the winter with snow like now, so usually have the lake to myself, less pressure.

Don't waste your time with Muskrat Pond. I checked it out for the first time a few weeks ago. We drilled holes all over that place and all we got were dinks. I think it's a stunted pond.

Bass Lake is a totally different story. I've done good there this year.
