Default Maple Lake - 01/27/2016 - crappie kind of day

Ended up with 12 crappies fishing from around 11:00 to 14:30 hours. PalosBob came late the the game and caught 3 or 4 crappies right away and then *bam*, the bite died off, at least for the crappies.

Dink (4 - 5'') gills of course were the main catch although some anglers were having trouble even getting them to bite.

Average crappie was around 8'', 7.5'' on the low end, 9'' on the high end. Crappies were hitting wax worms, (teeny meal worms) and plastics (PalosBob forte).

Yellow blue gill or some type of sunfish??

Female bluegill most likely they tend to have the lighter yellow coloring(especially in cold water)and the bridge from there mouth to eye is flatter than a male.

Looks like a young bluegill/pumpkinseed hybrid.
