Blu passes away Dec,20,2014 -- I took my camper and set up camp in his drive way ,just in case he would get to come home. He went down hill really fast after they would not let him return home . Howard the Duck was at his bedside when he passed. I was not there. Seen a article in the Bloomington paper they were going to have a private service and burial at s later date. Really sad to report this bad news I lost the best fried and fishing buddy that I have ever had .. Lost my wife in 2007 had another girl friend in four month .. Fishing buddy's are hard to replace .. Tough returning to old fishing spots where Blu and I fished .. So striking out to find new one and just like I did over 14 years ago checking in to Chicagolandfishing.com to see where the best fishing spots are. Going to miss being told I am stupid and don't know anything about anything and never being able to do anything right . Just turned 76 I bet you I can figure it out.
Holding OK for now, but was getting soft on Saturday. We really need some cold weather to firm the top back up and prevent the lower structural ice from degenerating. Weather forecast doesn't look good. I'm already planning some non-ATV location trips for this upcoming week.
My name is Josh, and I see that you're active on Bangs Lake right now. I'm heading out there on Sunday and wanted to ask about the ice conditions, places I should maybe avoid walking, and any other tips you might have for that lake, to avoid getting into trouble.
I moved here from Colorado recently, and haven't been out on the ice in Illinois yet. Not sure if it's dicey, but I'm used to having consistent 14" of ice by mid-January up in the mountains.
