Nice fish and report. Before all this rain hit we were nailing them on fluke type baits and jigs. Hopefully the river will go down and we can resume were we left off. Been fishing the State park area close to the Rock. Good luck.

Good looking baits. Something I still think I can throw on my spinning outfits. Thanks for the info.

We can make it 3 goofy looking Asian guys fishing the Kank. Might be over the quota though

Added another kid last year, have been having back problems (herniated disc w/sciatica) for the last 6 months so just had surgery last week and a new job in Feb has caused me to sit out so far this year. In fact, all my fishing stuff is still packed away from last year, but as soon as my recovery is done, I plan on hitting the Kank as much as possible. Usually a pond hopper and small lakes and when I first started fishing the Fox and Kank, got skunked all the time. Enjoyed the Fox more because its such a small river when compared to the Kank. The first "100" times on the Kank was intimidating and was horrible because I had no idea what I was doing. After many trips, tips from others, and exploring, finally got it nailed down where I finally started catching some fish. Don't know how it was years ago, but I think it's a great place to fish. Sounds like it used to be a blast out there.

Shug, what were you throwing out there? Sexy looking bait. Looks like some sort of fly jig made on a 1/16 oz jog head? Mind giving me some details on that because I think it looks like something I'd like to be throwing out there.

My usual go to bait out there has been 1/16 oz jig heads using Case Helgies and assorted craws type plastics. Tried cranks, but the plastics on the bottom produce so much better. The opposite on the Fox, where cranks have produced better for me.

Hope to see you out there one time.
Thanks, congrats on the new kid. My daughter just turned 1, so it's letting me get a break for fishing while the wifey goes out shopping with her. Good trade imo. As for the fly, the 2nd set of pictures were caught with a beadhead chartreuse woollybugger. And I fly fish, so I'm not sure what this fly would be equivalent to in lures. First set of pics were caught with a helgramite pattern.

Good luck, and if you see 2 goofy looking asians wading the creek, say hello. That's probably me and my buddy.

Shhh.. actually not a big deal. I know people don't like giving away their spots, but it's not like this was hidden. And once we actually get consistent nice weather, this place turns into a swimming pool so fishing will be sub-par.

Thanks Guys.

Up here in Niles things are slowly melting away. I'm sure if we get rain, it will completely melt. I may go for an early morning quick trip and see how it goes..

This nice weather is getting me anxious!
