I tried and I just couldn't figure out to make it Produce any fish. I did however get a decent little walleye where I ran into you after you left and pretended to work.

fish those beds of the long flowing stringy weeds if they have a little depth under them. fish use them for overhead cover.

State park 6/16

Got out to the river about 7 am low slow and clear but the weeds had taken over. Waded over to one of my favorite low water spots and it was engulfed in weeds so I improvised and fished faster moving deeper water with a weighted keeper hook and yum craw. That was all it took. The fish were packed in there and very aggressive. I threw up to the head of the riffles and let the bait bounce with the flow of the current picking up the rod tip every three or four seconds. It turned out to be a great day with about 40 smallies and 2 huge rock bass. Most smallies were in the 12 to 15 range with 2 at 18. Hopefully the storms and almost 6 inches of rain we picked up will clear some of those weeds. Out again tomorrow morning about 6 to kick off my first fathers day as a dad. Good luck keep an eye on rising water if you are wading tomorrow and happy dads day to all
