Re: 4-7-13 Rock Creek Report

Do you know where they stock them? We went up passed the waterfalls, and made it to the next walking bridge. But then we started walking downstream shortly after that.

I remember a few years ago there used to be a sign by the waterfalls that said "No Trespassing" so I wasn't sure if we were allowed to fish past the waterfalls, so we decided to head back down.

I was hoping to see some trout, but unfortunately no. Lots of carp though.

awesome.. thanks for the report. Did you see any trout cruising the creek? I believe they are a little further upstream, but you never know a few may make it through

4-7-13 Rock Creek Report

Went down to the Kank for the first time this season. My buddy came with me, but didn't have waders so we decided to head over to Rock Creek instead of the big river.

Water was down for both the creek and the river. Seemed pretty low to me, but the visibility was good.

Fished Rock Creek from 8am-1pm and creek chubs were biting like crazy. We probably caught like what seemed like 50 of these guys on a sparkle grub pattern. Rock Bass were also biting, and surprisingly they were putting up a good fight.

After lunch, we switched over to the big river and fished around the area where Rock Creek ran off into the big river. I was using a purple woolybugger pattern and missed about 3-4 hits.

After losing that fly, we decided to call it a day.

No smallies but it was fun getting out and away from the city. We're going to try to go again in 2 weeks.
