hack0059 I know this is an old thread, but looks pretty cool. I am going to try this with one small change. I am going to build a frame for the back of the seat to use as the support when folded down, also plan on adding a center console for the seats.

looks good. my old crestliner had the fold down bench seat which was great. The new boat just has the casting deck. I am going to make a fold down bench sometime this summer.

Re: Homemade Casting Deck

Hey there.

I used threaded metal pipes to support the deck when folded down. Just some cheap pipe I got at the local hardware store. They also have nice plastic threaded pipe in several colors that would work just as well. I could have gotten away with just one support but decided on 2. I use a plastic threaded cap to cover the 2 holes when I am not using the deck. I will show photos of what I mean.

I got the seats from a company called greatlakesskipper.com. They buy a lot of overstock from the actual manufactures so you can buy brand new OEM stuff at pretty decent prices. These seats were out of some kind of Tracker boat. You can buy the basic version of these seats at Bass Pro Shops just not as nice.

As far as the color of the carpet that was the stuff that came when we bought it new at BPS in Gurnee. Not sure if they had a different option at the time.

This mod is very easy, believe me if I can do it, anyone can.

Re: Homemade Casting Deck

My rear casting deck is about the same as yours before the modification... Definitely something worth looking in to... Thanks for the idea... You should send it to Bassmasters or NAFC magazines... They pay for tips, or provide prize packages...

Very nice mod. Doesn't look "home made" either.
