smeltaholic Oz,
This winter was brutal and did cause the cancelation of some planned tournaments, but the ones willing to travel as lttle as 2 hours there was plenty of ice. My last ice trip was 3 weeks ago at Redstone, I didn't fish it because I had my 9 year old nephew with me and didn't want to chance him wandering but I would have had no problem. Being able to fish from December thru mid March wasn't to bad. Next year will be better though as it would be hard to get worse.
On the veggie side I am preping for the bunny patch. Lettuces and green spices for treats.

Heck, I hope we have ice THIS year (don't rule out December!) I always hedge the weather. A warm winter = early Spinach, cold = good ice fishing season. Little of both = disaster

Spinach du Jour

Oz now if you had a couple of trout to go with that spinach you would be in good shape. The spinach looks real good.

Weather made for a crappy ice fishing season

That prolonged warm spell in January doomed the ice fishing, but for anyone overwintering spinach it did us good April Fools day picking, why not?

Spinach - the other green leaf.

On the fishing end, may not be able to get out until the weekend of the 22nd. With luck, may have an opening this Sunday. Let's see what Ma nature decides
