THinshaw Hi Blu,
IF the rain spares our ice I would be up for some "dark thirty" ice fishing.

Keep your fingers crossed and hope the Mother Nature gives us a few more weeks of good ice.
E had 8-10" of good ice last night out on main lake waters.

labman A buddy and I did go out to E and a private pond. Report to follow soon.

Glad to hear you had good luck. And Good luck tonight.

THinshaw Hey Labman,

I was out on Bloomington Saturday. Got 30 crappies, 3 gills, 1 largemouth, and a small striper.

Yesterday evening I took my 2 daughters back to Bloom. Crappies were still biting but I did have to down-size my spoon and work a little harder to get the bite.

Tonight my youngest daughter and I are going to set some tip-ups at Evergreen and try to catch the saugeye evening bite up there ...

Did you get out on Monday?

labman Thinshaw, You going to be out Monday? Heading down to E for the day.

THinshaw Taken right off the Shabby website :

"All holes were 4" ice or better"

"Seen three fishing huts out today, 2 in the Somonauk Bay and one by the Campground shoreline. Talked to one set of anglers, they said the ice was 3-4 inches"

It is either going to be Shabby or the Illinois River for me tomorrow. The sauger, walleye, and saugeye are still going pretty strong if you can brave the air temps.

blufloyd Sure? No Posts I've seen. Heading West Saturday.

THinshaw I just heard that Shabby has 3-4 inches of ice on it and they are catching limits of crappie, perch, and gills.

Yak Man I was just down Waterfowl hunting, near Lake Bloomington, and most of the coves there, still had open water.
