Re: Walleyes

made it out last thursday with the same results as you! water isn't very high. If it was spring/summer, the level would be great. I usually fish around the Willmington area too, but other than a few minnows and a dead 4 inch crappie, I saw no sighs of life. It was still nice to get out and wet my line! I can't wait until it warms up!

Re: Walleyes

Well here is my report. Wish it was better news. Fished the K3 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM. Started out at the North Island in Wilmington. There were a few people fishing the point and the east side, so i stuck to the west side. Beat the banks from the parking area all the way upstream to the private property line. I worked this section with everything in my box except the kitchen sink that i left at home. Only had 1 quick bite on a jig with a curly tail. After a few hours i moved to the dam, but there were enough people there already. So i went and casted around the Mill Race for a while. No takers there either.

It was very windy with about 20-30 mph gusts. (That is my guestimate) Water visibility was very low.
And of course the water was cold. :P

The only pic that i took was of 2 white snow geese sleeping on the shore of the Mill Race. My phone camera is not very good, and i didn't want to get too close to them and chase them off. They were my company for about an hour.

Even though I got skunked, it was great to get out.

Good Luck to all; Tight Lines to all.

I have been hearing a lot of buzz that walleyes are hitting good right now. I have a few jigs tied, plus a couple that a friend gave me. I think that i am going to have to record the Daytona 500 and go out Sunday. Anyone else hearing the same thing? If not, I will post if i had any luck. Hopefully with some pics of something nice. Also heard that smallies are hitting good too. Cant wait to get out.
