Once you find out what equiptment you need try Ebay. I have gotten some outstanding deals on different lots of equiptment. Buy a lot at a low price...Keep what you need, and relist the rest of it individually. Takes a little time but you can fill you box and possibly your wallet.

Re: Help Me Fill My Tackle Box

I went to my local fishing store and picked up some of the following.

Yamisenko worms about 4 packs 4" - 5" in assorted colors

Offset worm hooks

Bullet Sinkers

Lead headed jigs

Wacky rig parts

Here's what I still need to buy. As Bearsfan mentioned I need to get the painted colored lead headed jigs for walley. What weight should I go with (how many OZ). Some good crank baits. My favorite that I uses is a zaraspook or sometimes a jitter bug. Love my cicada!

I was able to get to tampier yesterday.. Had some luck

Re: Help Me Fill My Tackle Box

Are you looking for all around suggestions?
For instance, for smallmouth in a river I would some pretty basic things and in a bigger lake I would something different.

Re: Help Me Fill My Tackle Box

three option: 1- Pick up a catolog, and order everything in it. 2- get some size 1 and 2 hooks, some split shot, and some stem bobbers, and some bait. KISS. 3- pick a species or two and specialize.

Worms and minnows and cut bait can catch anything in the world. So can a white bucktail jig or twistertail. I recommend you pick one fish type to try to learn how to target, and them pick out some type of which is species appropriate. Old reliables like inline spinners, jigs, and rapalas are about as universal for artificial lures can get.

There's not a fish on the list you can't catch with a hook, weight and some bait! Remember KISS.

Hello-

I'll throw in my opinion for you to consider while getting your tacke in order.. Don't go over board! From someone that been there and has more tackle then I could figure out how I mananged to aquire so much of it I believe if you get on the horn and order yourself a free Cabellas/Bass Pro Shops catalog you'll be able to pick up all the tackle you'll neeed for under a few hundred bucks. Have fun shopping

PS. Gently used tackle, flea markets and fishing shows are also a good source.

Help Me Fill My Tackle Box

I used to fish a lot back in the day, I am 29 now and as of last year just gettign back into fishing. I used to go everyday in the summer with my sted dad. When we weren't on the boat we would go to Maple, Tmapier, Bullfrog and Busse Lakes. When we were on the boat we would go to Heidicki, LaSalle, Braidwood and Kanakee/Illinois Rivers and the occasional trip to Lake Michigan.

So I am out of the loop as far as tackle goes and need to re-stock my tackle box. Who wants to give me a hand and make a check list for me

From spinners, jigs, crank baits, bobbers, plastic worms you name it. Please make a list of tackle for each fish below. I really appreciate your help guys!!

Large Mouth Bass

Small Mouth Bass

White/Yellow Bass

Striper

Crappie

Walleye

Bluegill

Any other species of fish I am missing? I am not a big fan of fishing for Northerns as I really do not know where to go to catch them.
