Musky Tyme and there is also obviously Shabonna. I just started fishing it last year, but in my 3 times there I have either caught or at least seen a Musky every trip...

Hawkdemon Yeah I usually keep 1 decent size fish for dinner that night or the night after. But actually I never heard of anyone pulling Northerns out of the Des Plaines, Exactly where should I be going to catch them?

ok.......

i don't know where on the desplaines you're fishing but it doesn't smell and i have never caught a fish with 3 eyes yeah you might not want to eat the fish but they fight just as well as a fish caught out of anywhere else so if you plan on keeping fish then yeah please go somewhere else we don't need people keeping fish out of the desplaines

FishingVest Try Eagle Lake, it's a few miles north of Wisconsin Route 50, just west of 75 on St. Mary's Road in the county park. The weeds in the northwest corner held northern and largemouth. Disclaimer - it's been a few years since I fished there.

Hawkdemon I'm not too big on the Des Plaines......It smells and you can't really trust the fish that come outta there not to have 3 eyes. I kinda wanna get away from the city and the Des Plaines doesn't really do that.

cicerooooooo

hey i see that you're from cicero so seeing that you're super close to the desplaines why not just fish there for northern the best i've seen out of there is 36'' i've heard of larger but thats the biggest one i've witnessed being caught which isn't bad for how close it is to you

Paul S Hawk,
While it might be a shade over 2 hours from where you are, I'd try the Madison chain of lakes. I know a lot of guys fish for them up there. Good Luck fishing. Paul
