JB Let's not forget consistent lower temps. : ) I feel that those rains in the fall and spring can kind of give the fish a kick in the pants and loosen their jaws. Personal opinion of course but the last couple times I went down there action was minimal so I'm really looking for something to convince me to head back down. These kind of posts help. Hope you found them today!

Cotto JB- The rain didn't raise the water much but it gave it some color. I think the fish respond to the lower angle of the sun and shorter days more than anything. Fishing is usually very good for me in October. I plan to get out again tomorrow. Hopefully Ill have some more pics and a good report. Taking a couple buddies out so I hope I can put them on some fish too.

JB Did that rain have anything to do with the difference in numbers? Sounds like the fall feed is on and the rain get it a little jump start since it's been slow for me down there the last couple weeks. Congrats. My buddy will go cattin' down there occasionally and bring a couple home. I'm not surprised that you enjoyed them yourself. Nice post.

Choupiquer Any time Marty! I'm fishing 4 ladies for the Grand Isle Ladies Fishing Rodeo this weekend. Its a Breast Cancer Awareness tournament so everything is complimentary.

From the looks of things I might have to get Cotto to put me on some of those smallies.

Choup, sounds great - I'm gonna have to try that! We had some catfish prepared just like that at some restaurant on the way home from New Orleans and they were DEE-Licious! BUT, after those Specks you put us on I'd have to say I'm spoiled as far as tablefare goes. I think those Specks were some of the best tasting fish I've ever had!!! Thanks again for taking us out!!!

RonG Nice!

I always enjoy smallmouth photos.

The walleye's head looks to be twice the normal size in the picture.
