Cotto Someone was just asking me if I ever try leeches and I never have in the River. I was wondering if there are even leeches in there as I have never seen one. I just might have to pick some and give them a try. I am always looking for walleye and maybe that might be the ticket. Thanks

sneden Was out on Saturday between 11-3. Fished in the Wilmington area Crappie for the first few hours and did very well with Minnows under a slip bobber. I picked up some leeches at the baitshop . I tied on a #4 hook with a couple of split shot.. Non stop action... 3 Walleye right away and a bunch of Smallmouth. Love that Kankakee River

Cotto 41x9.... I did try a 4 inch finesse worm on a 1/16 oz jig head. Got a couple hits but no fish. It did work for me last week though. I didn't try any plastic craws. I have had luck on Flukes this time of year but have only got a few on them this year. I prefer to use lures if they get fish but if they want minnows or worms, that's what I will give them. I have also been throwing top waters but not a single fish yet. I'm going again next weekend since it is my only weekend off this month and I'll post. I would say to get out because the bite seems to be getting better each time I go. In past years, the cooler the water gets, the bigger the smallies seem to get. I hope the walleye turn on soon. Good luck.

41x9hirschj Nice smallies, I've been itching to get back down there on the yak. Did you guys try any plastics? 4" dingers or light jig (1/8) and craw imitations always produce for me this time of the year.
